The consent items were approved.
Items included July minutes; Badger Ridge representatives on Governing
Council; use of old report cards without Spanish for elementary school till the
supply is used up; and confirmation of electronic vote to approve Janine
Domoracki as middle school teacher. Liaison

Round Table Greg
Anderson reported first on extra (activity) funds for CKCS will come from the
elementary school pictures. Leslie
Gilbert moved to place an additional $2 on picture packages and $1 on individual
pictures. Seconded by Greg.
Approved. Sandy Hoel reported on fundraisers for the fall school year. She also reported that Parent Round Table would provide lunch for teachers on the first day all teachers report. Middle School Site Council The middle school site council has not met yet.
Mission StatementMarykay reported that the language in the mission statement needs to be confirmed. The current mission statement read at governing council meetings will continue to be used and not the one on the brochure, until further review. Eric Bayler motioned to refer the mission statement review to the governance committee on P.A.S.S. Seconded by Amy Willson. Approved. Middle School Withdrawals and New AdmissionsGreg reported that John Schmitt is sending a letter on August 15 to 6th grade students on the waiting list from 3/31/00. The letter invites these students to CKCS this one time due to 6th grade students from Fitchburg attending their neighborhood Savanna Oaks Middle School. The parents need to respond by August 18. John will call all parents until a response is received. Student HandbookThe draft of the family handbook was passed out to governing council members for review. The handbook will go to print August 17. Any corrections need to be given to Peg by August 16. The discipline policy was also distributed. Greg gave an overview and asked for input on a broad scope. The teachers will review the policy during staff development the first days back. Middle School Math CurriculumEric Bayler reported that he is working with Chris to discuss the new math curriculum. They will meet with Linda Christensen and Jim Guy to discuss placement testing, etc. HiringGreg reported that Janine Domoracki has wonderful reviews. He also reported that there are three finalists for Instructional Assistants. Staff Back to School OrientationThe orientation schedule for the staffs first days back to school was distributed. The next CKCS Governing Council meeting will be on Monday, September 11, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. at Badger Ridge/CKCS LMC.
